    Hello
We have needed your help. We have CINCINNAT MILACRON machine horizontal centers T30 with ACRAMATIC 950MC computer numerical control end

Servo drive SIEMENS model 6SC61 (4 axis). We had a power outage and after turn ON the control and hydraulics all axis moves in one time with various speed, without command.

I checked cables between motors and PWM, power output cables, cables for rotor position and tacho signals I doing commissioning by battery box but

drives runaway. I tried to adjusted drift but nothing. In this time touch pads for select axis is inhibit (power feed panel); just X touch pad is illuminated but not work.

On the power feed panel have illuminated just X, CONT, 100% touch pads LED’s all the time.

    Can you help me please?

    Thanks!

    Dear Sir
Can yousupply complete part numbers of drive components?
Please check terminal 56 on each drive, is a set point present?
you might try shorting 56 to 14, dothe axes still drift?
    Regards
    SteveJ

    Hello Nicolae,
Hopefully you have your machine working by now; however, if you haven't, you need to isolate the problem.
First, is the problem your CNC or is it the drive system.
If the drives are running away, the relationship of the encoder and the velocity command of the drives could be faulty now. Cincinnati Machine should be able to guide you on how to check this out.
If you have a battery box for the drive, you can isolate the drive from the CNC including the enable signals, etc. The drive should work fine with no connection to the CNC. If it does, then the issue is with the CNC / PLC and or interface connections.
    Hope this helps...

dear dave , your machine is running now ??
i know very well cincinnatti and acramatic 950 , y work with this cncfor a very long time , it's and very old cnc .
one problem is that the pwm for the drivers is made inside de cnc from cincinnati , in the driver, simodrive610 only use the power module for the motors axes andone card of regulation for magazine .
wich axis is run away , don't forget that inside the cnc acramatic 950 you have 4 cpu's , one of them is for the driver's .
if you needmore information , please inform me .
    thanks

    Dear Sir,
With shorting 56 to 14(each drive)the axes runaway.

Hello Nicolae, First there are 6SC610 and 6SC611 drives. My guess is that you have 6SC610 which are also known as Simodrive 610 drives. Therefore, you have 1FT5 200 volt motors installed probably.
If 56/14 are shorted and the motors run away, chances are that your motor tachometer is misaligned or the tachometer is installed improperly.
I recommend that the motor (s) be checked at an authorized Siemens 1FT5 motor repair facility.
You could possibly have a faulty speed controller board as well.
    Hope this helps...

    Hello Dave,
    I have 6SC6101 drives.
After power ON all axis runaway aith 56/14 shorted
I not belive as 3 motors to be with problems inone time, maybe the power module or all speed controller board is faulty. I have not the spare parts.
    thanks,
    Nicolae

    Hello Nicolae,
Your response says that you have Simodrive 610 drives. These have a DC link voltage of approximately 200 VDC and matching 1FT5 motors with hall effect switches and a brushless tacho for speed feedback. Since all your motors are running away, I wonder if you might have the drives set up as torque control (i.e., speed controller disabled)rather than speed control (i.e., with tacho feedback).
When operating servo drives with an analog output CNC (like Acramatic 950), the motors may run away if the position encoders for the axis are expecting to go one direction and the motors want to turn the opposite direction. In other words, you need to check to make sure that when the motors are turning clockwise that the encoders are counting properly on the position readout of the CNC. Could it be that you have them reversed in direction now that you've been working on them?
    My best regards...
